DOSAFRUT is a tool for determining the appropriate application rate (litres of spray liquid per unit of orchard area, L/ha) for the specific conditions under which the treatment will take place (characteristics of the orchard, meteorology and spray).
The scientific and technical background of DOSAFRUT is explained in paragraph about technical documentation..
This tool is appropriate for all spray treatments applied in intensive apple and pear orchards at any vegetative stage except leaf fall and during the winter break.
The recommendation volume obtained is valid as long as the treatment is applied according to the following guidelines for good phytosanitary practices.
DOSAFRUT is also being adapted for treatments in intensive peach and nectarine orchards.
1. Use only an air-assisted sprayer designed to apply phytosanitary products in fruit orchards and that is in good working order and maintain the initial settings and performance levels.
2. Use turbulence cone nozzles by recognized manufacturers in order to obtain a uniform spray with droplet of an appropriate size. Preferably use medium sized nozzles (providing flow rates of between 1,0 and 2,0 L/min at a pressure of 10 bar).
3. Work at moderate pressures, 5-14 bar.
4. Work under appropriate weather conditions: temperatures of between 5ºC and 25ºC, relative humidity of between 50% and 95%, calm wind conditions. Exceptionally, if the treatment is urgently required, it can be applied in a light wind (wind speed measured at the top of the trees of less than 3 m/s).
Registered users can save information for each of the plots that they have registered and also their spray volume calculations. This information can later be recovered, modified and reused as many times as required without the need to enter any more data.
Registered users can receive messages from the administrators of DOSAFRUT, presenting new information, new website services and/or news and invitations related with phytosanitary protection of fruit tree orchards.
The information contained in the user's data register will, at all times, be managed in accordance with current legislation governing the protection of personal data.
